The varieties in this group have ancestry from Clematis integrifolia (Solitary Clematis). Depending on the cultivar, their stem length varies from 40 to 200 cm. Although they have limited climbing ability (unable to twine around supports), they can sprawl over natural structures like low shrubs or rocks. This makes them excellent candidates for ground cover in gardens.
